These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(a), (b), (c), (d) and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

These Regulations are made under powers in section 8(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(c)) arising from the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union (“the EU”).

The Judicial Pensions Regulations 2015 and the Judicial Pensions (Fee-Paid Judges) Regulations 2017 make provision for the contributions payable by members of the schemes constituted by those Regulations up to 31st March 2019.
