David, who joins the company on Tuesday 13 March, brings a wealth of experience.

David has led safety and supply chain development at Carillion as well as sustainability strategies over the past 6 years. He was previously a Director at Sky and at Motorola and also served 20 years in senior strategic and operational leadership roles as a wing commander in the RAF.

He takes over from David Poole who is leaving Highways England on 16 March.

The Codes of Practice for the Welfare of Cats, Dogs, and Horses, Ponies, Donkeys and their Hybrids (Appointed Day and Revocations) (England) Order 2018

This Order appoints 6th April 2018 as the day on which the new Code of Practice for the Welfare of Cats, the new Code of Practice for the Welfare of Dogs and the new Code of Practice for the Welfare of Horses, Ponies, Donkeys and their Hybrids come into force in England.

The Social Security Benefits Up-rating Order 2018

This Order is made as a consequence of a review under sections 150 and 151A of the Social Security Administration Act 1992 (c. 5) (“the Administration Act”) and includes details of the sums mentioned in those sections. The Order does not deal with the benefits which were frozen by the Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 (c. 7).

The Guaranteed Minimum Pensions Increase Order 2018

This Order specifies 3.0 per cent. as the percentage by which that part of any guaranteed minimum pension attributable to earnings factors for the tax years 1988-89 to 1996-97 and payable by contracted-out, defined benefit occupational pension schemes is to be increased. Under section 109(3) of the Pension Schemes Act 1993 (c. 48) the percentage to be specified is the actual percentage increase in the general level of prices in the period under review or 3 per cent., whichever is less.
