The Animal Health and Welfare (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of powers in the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) in order to address failures of domestic legislation to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular, under paragraphs (a), (d) and (g) of section 8(2) of the Act) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union.

The Livestock (Records, Identification and Movement) (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

The Merchant Shipping (Technical Requirements for Inland Waterway Vessels) (Amendment) Regulations 2019

These Regulations implement Directive (EU) 2016/1629 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14th September 2016 laying down technical requirements for inland waterway vessels, amending Directive 2009/100/EC and repealing Directive 2006/87/EC (“the Directive”).

The Transfrontier Shipment of Radioactive Waste and Spent Fuel (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) (“EUWA”) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(c) of the EUWA) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. The Regulations extend to the whole of the United Kingdom.

The Welfare Reform Act 2012 (Commencement No. 32 and Savings and Transitional Provisions) Order 2019

1. Article 2, which extends to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commences section 33(1)(f) of the Welfare Reform Act 2012 (c. 5) (“the Act”), which abolishes child tax credit and working tax credit (“tax credit”), and the repeal of Part 1 of the Tax Credits Act 2002 (c. 21) (but not Schedule 1 or 3), by Part 1 of Schedule 14 to the Act, on 1st February 2019, subject to the savings referred to below.

The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Oil Pollution) Regulations 2019

These Regulations implement Annex I (Regulations for the Prevention of Pollution by Oil) of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships, 1973, as modified by the Protocol of 1978 (“the MARPOL Convention”). Annex I first entered into force on 2nd October 1983, and the revised version of the Annex which these Regulations implement entered into force on 1st January 2007. Further amendments have been made to the Annex which are also implemented by these Regulations. As a consequence the Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Oil Pollution) Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996/2154) and other instruments which amend them are revoked, and other legislation is amended (regulation 1(2) and (3) and the Schedule).

The Insolvency (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(b) to (d)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. These Regulations make amendments to legislation in the field of cross-border insolvency. These Regulations also contain minor amendments to the Insolvency (Northern Ireland) Order 1989 and to employment legislation in Northern Ireland bringing that legislation into line with EU law. These amendments are made under section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 (c. 21) (“the ECA”) and come into force on the day after these Regulations are made.

The Leicestershire County Council (Zouch Bridge Replacement) Bridge Scheme 2017 Confirmation Instrument 2019

This Instrument confirms a Scheme to construct over the navigable waters of the River Soar the bridge specified in the Schedule to this Scheme as part of the highway which they are proposing to construct as a replacement for Zouch Bridge carrying the A6006 from Hathern in the Parish of Hathern and the District of Charnwood in Leicestershire to Zouch in the Parish of Normanton on Soar and the District of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire.
