The Blood Safety and Quality Regulations and the Care and Support (Business Failure) Regulations (Consequential Amendments) Order 2018
This Order amends the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/50) and the Care and Support (Business Failure) Regulations 2015 (S.I. 2015/301).

The Policing and Crime Act 2017 (Maritime Enforcement Powers: Code of Practice) Regulations 2018
These Regulations bring into force a code of practice issued under section 94(1) of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (“the Act”). Chapter 5 of Part 4 of the Act sets out the enforcement powers in relation to ships that are available to a law enforcement officer as defined by section 84(3) of the Act.

The Policing and Crime Act 2017 (Commencement No. 7) Regulations 2018
These Regulations bring into force specified provisions of the Policing and Crime Act 2017 (c. 3) (“the Act”). They are the seventh commencement regulations under the Act. Other provisions of the Act were brought into force on Royal Assent by section 183(5) of the Act or commenced on 31st March 2017 by virtue of section 183(6) of the Act.

The Independent Educational Provision in England (Inspection Fees) and Independent School Standards (Amendment) Regulations 2018
These Regulations are made by way of powers in the Education and Skills Act 2008. Their purpose is to revoke and replace the Education (Independent Educational Provision in England) (Inspection Fees) Regulations 2009 (“the 2009 Regulations”) (S.I. 2009/1607), which have been the main piece of legislation in this area. In addition, these Regulations make amendments to the Education (Independent School Standards) Regulations 2014 (2014/3283).

The Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) (Amendment) Regulations 2018
These Regulations amend the Criminal Legal Aid (Remuneration) Regulations 2013 (S.I. 2013/435; the “2013 Regulations”). The Regulations amend the legal aid fees that are payable to advocates in criminal proceedings under the advocates’ graduated fee scheme (“AGFS”), as set out in Schedule 1 to the 2013 Regulations. The Regulations make provision for advocates’ fees to be determined according to a new banding structure for criminal offences.

The Licensing of Houses in Multiple Occupation (Prescribed Description) (England) Order 2018
This Order prescribes a description of a house in multiple occupation (“HMO”) to which Part 2 of the Housing Act 2004 (“the Act”) applies. Under section 61(1) of the Act every HMO to which Part 2 of the Act applies must be licensed unless it is subject to either a temporary exemption notice under section 62 of the Act or an interim or final management order under Chapter 1 of Part 4 of the Act.

The Electronic Monitoring (Responsible Persons) Order 2018
Section 62(2B) of the Criminal Justice and Services Act 2000 (c. 43) provides that a person may not be made responsible for the monitoring of individuals under section 62 of that Act (Release on licence etc.: electronic monitoring conditions), unless they are of a description specified in an order by the Secretary of State.
