The Competition (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) (No. 2) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under paragraphs (b) and (c) of section 8(2)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. They amend the Competition (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (SI 2019/93)(‘the principal Regulations’) to–

The Specific Food Hygiene (Regulation (EC) No. 853/2004) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c.16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. In particular, the Regulations address the deficiency specified in section 8(2)(b) of that Act, namely the conferral of functions by retained EU law on, or in relation to, EU entities which no longer have functions in that respect under EU law in relation to the United Kingdom.

The Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992, Schedule 8B (Substitution of Dates) Regulations 2019

These Regulations extend the date of the sunset clauses in paragraphs 1(3)(b) and 2(2)(b) of Schedule 8B to the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992 (c. 12). The effect of these substitutions is that the date by which a gain must accrue for the purposes of tax relief for social investments is now 6 April 2021.

The Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation (Amendment) Order 2019

This Order makes amendments to the Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Order 2010 (S.I. 2010/2198) as a result of the abolition of the Borough of Poole Council, Bournemouth Borough Council and Dorset County Council (“the abolished Councils”) and the creation of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and Dorset Council (“the new Councils”), pursuant to the Bournemouth, Dorset and Poole (Structural Changes) Order 2018 (S.I. 2018/648).
