The Non-Domestic Rating (Rates Retention) (Amendment) Regulations 2017

Under paragraph 6 of Schedule 7B to the Local Government Finance Act 1988 (1988 c. 41) (local retention of non-domestic rates), billing authorities are required to pay a proportion of their non-domestic rating income to the Secretary of State (“the central share payment”). The percentage determined by the Secretary of State under paragraph 4 of Schedule 7B to be a billing authority’s central share for a year is specified in the Local Government Finance Report for that year laid before the House of Commons under paragraph 5 of that Schedule.

Correction Slip 1

These Regulations will bring into force on 14th July 2017 those sections of the Childcare Payments Act 2014 (c. 28) (“the Act”) that are set out in regulation 2. This regulation commences specified sections of the Act in relation to a relevant child and any sibling (as defined in regulation 2(3)) on 14th July 2017.

The Boston Barrier Order 2017

This Order authorises the Environment Agency (“the Agency”) to construct and operate a new tidal barrier with a moveable gate across the river Witham (also known in this location as the Haven) in Boston, Lincolnshire, together with a new building to enable operation of the barrier, new flood defence walls on both banks of the Haven, a replacement gate across the entrance to the existing Wet Dock and to execute ancillary works, including dredging of the river.

The Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge (Revision of Charges etc.) Order 2017

This Order, made in response to an application by the Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge Company Limited (“the Company”), revises the tolls that the Company may charge for use of the Dartmouth-Kingswear Floating Bridge (also known as the Dartmouth-Kingswear Higher Ferry).

The Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017

These Regulations implement, as respects Great Britain, some of the provisions of Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom (OJ No L13,17.1.2014, p1) laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers from exposure to ionising radiation. The Directive repeals Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/26/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 20013/122/Euratom.
