The Finance Act 2019 amended the Vehicle Excise and Registration Act 1994 (“VERA”) to exempt a taxi capable of zero emissions (“TCZE”) from the additional supplement of vehicle excise duty for vehicles with a list price of more than £40,000. It also conferred a power on the Secretary of State to define, through regulations, which vehicles are a TCZE.

This Order designates the area within 100 metres of the wreck site of an unknown wooden vessel lying approximately 14 kilometres south-east of Beachy Head, East Sussex as a restricted area for the purposes of the Protection of Wrecks Act 1973 (“the Act”).

These Regulations bring into force section 8(2) of the Neighbourhood Planning Act 2017 (c.20) on 4th July 2019. Section 8(2) amends section 34 (guidance) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (c.5) to require the Secretary of State to issue guidance for local planning authorities on how their local development documents (taken as a whole) should address housing need that results from old age or disability.
