The Naval, Military and Air Forces Etc. (Disablement and Death) Service Pensions (Amendment) Order 2019

This Order amends the Naval, Military and Air Forces Etc. (Disablement and Death) Service Pensions Order 2006 (“the principal Order”), which makes provision for pensions and other awards in respect of disablement or death due to service before 6th April 2005 in the naval, military and air forces. The principal Order contains the scheme which provides the pensions and other awards.

The Sanctions (Overseas Territories) (Amendment) Order 2019

Articles 2, 3 and 4(3) of this Order provide that the Lebanon and Syria (United Nations Measures) (Overseas Territories) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/311), the Lebanon (United Nations Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2007 (S.I. 2007/283) and Part 1 of the Libya (Restrictive Measures) (Overseas Territories) Order 2011 (S.I. 2011/1080) will no longer extend to Bermuda, given that they now have the force of law in Bermuda by virtue of the International Sanctions Regulations 2013 (BR 14/2013).

The Eritrea (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) (Revocation) Order 2019

This Order revokes the Eritrea (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2012 (S.I. 2012/2751), which gave effect in specified Overseas Territories to sanctions adopted by the United Nations Security Council against Eritrea. The Order reflects the lifting of those sanctions by the United Nations Security Council under resolution 2444 (2018) and gives effect to the implementation of that resolution by the European Union under Council Decision (CFSP) 2018/1944 and Council Regulation (EU) 2018/1932.

The Air Navigation (Amendment) Order 2019

This Order amends the Air Navigation Order 2016 (S.I. 2016/765) (“the 2016 Order”) to extend the flight restriction zone at and around protected aerodromes, within which flights by small unmanned aircraft must not take place without permission. “Small unmanned aircraft” is defined in Schedule 1 to the 2016 Order and covers unmanned aircraft, other than balloons or kites, of 20kg or less. The new restrictions affect both the “SUA operator” and “remote pilot” of the small unmanned aircraft, which are defined in article 94G of the 2016 Order.

The Scotland Act 1998 (Specification of Functions and Transfer of Property etc.) Order 2019

Section 81 of the Forestry and Land Management Scotland Act 2018 provides that the functions of the Forestry Commissioners which are exercisable in or as regards Scotland immediately before the date on which that section comes into force are no longer exercisable in or as regards Scotland.
