The Road Vehicle Emission Performance Standards (Cars and Vans) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(b), (c), and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union.

The Aviation Security (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in sections 8(1) and 23(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) (“the 2018 Act”) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(a), (b), (c), (d) and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Moreover, section 8(5) and (6) of the 2018 Act are relevant to the provision made by these Regulations.

The Motor Vehicles (Compulsory Insurance) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers in section 8(1) of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies (in particular under section 8(2)(a), (d), (e) and (g)) arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. Regulation 1(4) to (6) is made in exercise of the power in paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to that Act.

The Pensions Increase (Review) Order 2019

Under section 59 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 (c.60) where the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, under the Social Security Administration Act 1992 Act (c.), directs the sums in s.150(1)(c) are to be increased by a specified percentage, the Treasury shall provide by Order for the increase in the rates of public service pensions. The Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 (c.56) defines certain terms and sets out when a pension “begins” (the day after the last day of service in respect of which the pension is payable) and how the increase applies to lump sums.

The Companies Act 2006 (Extension of Takeover Panel Provisions) (Isle of Man) Order 2019

This Order replaces the Companies Act 2006 (Extension of Takeover Panel Provisions) (Isle of Man) Order 2008 (S.I. 2008/3122: “the 2008 Order”), partly to reflect changes in responsibility for company registration on the Isle of Man and partly to deal with the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union.

The Local Elections (Northern Ireland) (Election Expenses) Order 2019

This Order amends sections 42 and 46 of, and Part 2 of Schedule 3B to, the Electoral Law Act (Northern Ireland) 1962 (c. 14 (N.I.)) (‘the 1962 Act’) to create two new exclusions relating to election expenses incurred by candidates in local elections in Northern Ireland and also to amend the requirements for the election expenses returns of such candidates.

The Motor Vehicles (International Circulation) (Amendment) (EU Exit) Order 2019

This Order amends the Motor Vehicles (International Circulation) Order 1975 (S.I. 1975/1208) (“the 1975 Order”) to give effect to certain provisions of the 1968 Convention on Road Traffic (Cm 9570) (“the 1968 Convention”) which relate to international driving permits.
