The Local Government Pension Scheme (Amendment) Regulations 2018

These Regulations amend the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 2013 (“the 2013 Regulations”) and the Local Government Pension Scheme (Transitional Provisions, Savings and Amendment) Regulations 2014 (“the Transitional Regulations”). Both sets of regulations came substantively into effect on 1st April 2014 and certain provisions listed in regulation 1 take effect from that date. Section 3(3)(b) of the Public Service Pensions Act 2013 (“the 2013 Act”) provides that scheme regulations may make retrospective provision.

The Pollution Prevention and Control (Designation of the Medium Combustion Plant Directive) (Offshore) Order 2018

This Order designates Directive 2015/2193/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the limitation of emissions of certain pollutants into the air from medium combustion plants (“the Directive”) as a relevant directive for the purposes of paragraph 20(1)(b) of Schedule 1 to the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 (c.24)(“the Act”).

The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018

These Regulations provide for the licensing of persons involved in England in selling animals as pets, providing or arranging for the provision of boarding for cats or dogs, hiring out horses, breeding dogs and keeping or training animals for exhibition.

The Local Land Charges Fees (England) Rules 2018

These Rules prescribe the fees payable to the Chief Land Registrar for various services relating to local land charges affecting land in England and provided under the Local Land Charges Act 1975 (c. 76) and the Local Land Charges Rules 2018 (S.I. 2018/273). They replace the fees specified by individual local authorities under section 13A of the Local Land Charges Act 1975 for similar services relating to local land charges affecting land in their respective administrative areas: this section is repealed by the Infrastructure Act 2015 (c. 7) with effect in a local authority area on the same day as these Rules have effect in that area.

The Ionising Radiation (Basic Safety Standards) (Miscellaneous Provisions) Regulations 2018

These Regulations are part of a package of measures to transpose Council Directive 2013/59/Euratom laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure to ionising radiation and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/ Euratom, 96/29/ Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom (“the Basic Safety Standards Directive”). Most of the transposition measures are being dealt with by amending or replacing existing statutory instruments. These Regulations transpose provisions of the Basic Safety Standards Directive that cannot be transposed within existing statutory regimes.

The Export (Penalty) (Amendment) Regulations 2018

These Regulations amend the Export (Penalty) Regulations 2003 (S.I. 2003/3102) (‘the 2003 Regulations’). The 2003 Regulations provide in part for penalties for contravention of rules on exports set out in EU legislation. These Regulations replace references to the Community Customs Code and associated legislation which have lapsed with references to the Union Customs Code and associated legislation that are currently in force.
